We moved to our current complex with a pool in the summer of 2017 when I was pregnant with my youngest. This was the first time that we had a pool accessible to us. We could finally make swimming a part of our weekly routine (or when the weather is hot enough). My kids absolutely love the water and would jump at any opportunity to be in the water. However, with 3 little kids 4 years and under it’s not really the safest/most enjoyable activity.
We used the pool quite often until I had my youngest towards the end of 2017. During that time we managed to get my eldest (who is now 4 and half years old) to get used to floating on his own. My daughter who is 2 years old is still super fearful and will not allow us to let her go without screaming. So this made it really hard to go swimming with 3 kids as we had 2 kids to “hold”. It takes a few seconds and a child could drown so it’s so important to have the right floats for them.
I was pretty grateful for the opportunity to use the Swimways Infant Baby Spring Float, which would allow us to have baby IN the pool and enjoy our time with our toddlers at the same time. It’s so important to get kids used to a pool setting from a young age so that as they get older it gets easier to teach them. It was also important to us to pick a product like SwimWays that’s leading in the industry and also trusted by other parents in helping their children to learn how to swim whilst promoting water safety.
So after weeks of my kids asking, we finally took our 6-month-old in the pool with Baba to try it out. My eldest was so happy to have our baby in the pool rather than watching him in a stroller.
About Infant Baby Spring Float
The Infant Baby Spring Float is a fabric-covered baby float for infants who are 3-9 months old. It is so comfortable and supportive for a babys first adventure into the swimming pool. Because of the way it’s built it really does create a positive water introduction experience. And boy did my son love having the boy splashed on him!
This Infant Baby Spring Float is unlike other floats you have seen where infants/toddlers have their legs go through a little cloth seat. The soft seat cradles baby and features a 3-point harness to keep baby secure at all times. It’s basically like having a floating bouncer in the pool!
Using the Infant Baby Spring Float
When setting it up, we were unsure how to blow the air in. I looked up a youtube video and realized we were doing it all wrong! Then it was minutes till it was ready. The Infant Baby Spring Float features dual inflation chambers, child safety valves, and a wide base with an inner spring around the outside edge of the float for stability. This is what makes it safe for the kids. My son loved it and was enjoying playing with his shades which we took help distract him in case he wanted to turn over. Even when he did try it was pretty stable and wasn’t cause for concern.
My absolute favorite feature was the built-in handles that we could hold while swimming a few laps to hold the baby float securely.
We happened to use the float on a really sunny day so the Sun Canopy came into great use. It has UPF 50+ sun protection to protect an infant’s delicate skin. What I really loved about the canopy other than it’s protective feature, was that it is adjustable! So when it is not a hot day, we would be able to remove it.
It’s easy to fold the float flat and compact into a carry case (included). It’s definitely a great investment for the summer especially when you have more than 1 child. It will enable you to have them both in the pool without worrying about safety.
Getting your hands on an Infant Baby Spring Float
I can’t wait to get the next level float for when my baby is over 9 months. They even have floats for toddlers too! You can check out more details on Swimways on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.
Happy Swimming this summer mama’s!
