November 7th 2016 marked 3 years since I first became a mother to our energetic little boy Ayyoub and the day I started my journey as a mom blogger. These few years have truly been THE journey of my life, from the unforgettable moments to the emotional rollercoasters to feeling like my heart is going to burst with love for him and his little sister Asiyah who was born 21 months later.
Hi, I am Afra, the owner of Through Mama’s Eyes….
I am a wife & stay at home mom of 2 toddlers and a 10 Month Old. As challenging as it has been to have 3 kids in under 4 years, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I came from a corporate workaholic lifestyle, working 8 am – 6 pm, sometimes 8 am – 8 pm, followed by rushing to the gym at least 4-5 times a week, and then spending the remainder of my evenings socializing with my best friends or free-lancing till 3 am. It was a fast paced lifestyle I sometimes dream of right now, a lifestyle where everything revolved around ME. Naturally now, everything revolves around the responsibility of my home, my marriage, my 3 children and our life as a family.
In my friends circle, I am the one to be contacted for advice on the right product to purchase, why baby won’t sleep or even just trying to create a registry for the new arrival. With that I decided to use my experiences as a mother and an entrepreneur to connect with & support mothers in their journey as new moms or as mom’s with young toddlers. That’s when I decided to start Through Mama’s Eyes.
About the Blog
There are a gazillion motherhood blogs out there. Mama’s using their blogs as an outlet for expression and others using it to share their knowledge on expert topics. By no means am I an expert or professional in any specific topic, however, I am a mama of 2 beautiful toddlers, and a newborn and that in itself makes me an expert in my own journey…
This blog is where you will find a REAL perspective on a specific topic or product related to motherhood or your baby. Whether you are trying to find out what to do about breastfeeding, terrible two’s, teething, or having a generally overwhelming day I want to be able to connect with you and say, mama it will be ok, this happens, and we will get through this. It’s so important to engage in conversation, and surround yourself with supportive people otherwise keeping things inside, will not only make you feel like you are being superwoman, but it will make you worse of a mom and wife.
You will be able to read about birth, breastfeeding, managing motherhood, toddler tantrums, teething, baby wearing, life as a work from home mom (from a previous corporate world workaolic), the best products for babies, to toddlers & moms and the list goes on. I thoroughly enjoy researching, trying & reviewing the latest mom/baby products and being a brand influencer. Which is why I will be sharing REAL reviews with absolutely no bias with my following. If you would like to collaborate with me click here.
So sit back, get a cuppa tea or coffee, and enjoy the journey ahead…
